Grand Rapids FC Adds Crucial Midfielder to 2016 Squad

Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce the newest player signing for the 2016 season.  Please help us welcome Greg Timmer!
Timmer, a Central Midfielder who will wear number 12, played the 2014 season with Lansing United and the 2015 season with Portland Timbers U-23s.  He finished his senior season at Western Michigan this past Fall.
“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to GRFC” said Timmer.  “It is a privilege to continue playing soccer in my home town and I am lucky enough to play with some of the best players and coaching staff in West Michigan. There is nothing better than waking up and driving 15 minutes to play in front of the thousands who support and care for Grand Rapids soccer like I do. One city one club”.
Associate Head Coach Lewis Robinson on the Timmer signing:  “We are extremely excited to have Greg on board with us this summer. He is one of the first players we singled out in our recruiting process for the 2016 squad and he will be a very important player for us. He is a very smart center midfielder who we feel can dictate the pace and rhythm of the game while making others around him better. He possesses excellent passing and vision qualities that will help make us a better team in our first NPSL season”.
