Grand Rapids FC is proud to announce our 26th player signing for the 2015 season Ruben Ornelas-Luna.

Ornelas-Luna, a Midfielder who will wear the number 28, is originally from Colima, Mexico and played high school here in the states for Wyoming Rogers and collegiately for Aquinas College.

While at Wyoming Rogers, he captained the team for two years.

During his time playing for Aquinas, he was a three year starter and was named captain his senior year. He was also named to the All-WHAC second team. The team had unprecedented success during his tenure there, winning the WHAC tournament title his Freshman year and the Regular Season WHAC Championship his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior seasons.

Founder Matt Roberts commented “Ruben is a soccer junkie who plays pretty much every day of the week in one league or another so we know he loves the game. He is well liked and well respected by everyone in the West Michigan soccer community. During the tryout the coaching staff couldn’t believe how many times he nutmegged opponents during the run of play. I personally am very excited to have Ruben on board as he is one of my favorite players to have worked with over the years”.
