Grand Rapids FC Signs Muskegon Captain

Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce the signing of Jai Maw for the 2016 NPSL season.

Maw, who is a Defender and will wear #5, played the 2015 season with Muskegon and also has PDL experience with the St. Louis Lions. He is originally from Macclesfield, England and played collegiately at Davenport.

“It is a pleasure to be joining Grand Rapids FC in the club’s second season” said Maw. “I watched the team develop from afar last season and was always intrigued by the chance to play football in Grand Rapids again. I’m hoping to make a positive difference to the squad and look forward to playing in front of thousands of fans this summer – hopefully this time they’ll be happy to see me. Grand Rapids is fortunate to have a team in the NPSL and I’m hoping that the success that we have this year will allow for the franchise to continue to grow”.

Associate Head Coach Lewis Robinson on the signing: “When the opportunity was presented to us to sign Jai we jumped at it knowing he brings great experience to our squad that we are looking for. He has a great playing history at the collegiate and top amateur levels and is able to play as a defender or midfielder. Jai also shares our vision in helping the club compete at the very top levels in the NPSL and continuing to improve this summer.
