GRFC Men Gearing Up For 2018 Season

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – With the 2018 National Premier Soccer League season fast approaching, Grand Rapids Football Club has been hard at work putting together a squad that reflects the team’s goal of winning the NPSL National Championship.

Under the direction of first-year head coach Lewis Robinson, 12 players who appeared for GRFC during the 2017 campaign are slated to return in 2018, including goalkeeper Noah Fazekas; defenders Tony Deakin, Caleb Postlewait, Jake Vanderlaan and Trent Vegter; midfielders Nick Abdoo and Cam Cavanagh; and forwards Anthony Bowie, Joe Broekhuizen, Gabe Mateo, Alex Mendez and Jalen Rodriguez.

Additionally, the Boys in Blue have signed six players who could make their GRFC debuts this season, including goalkeeper Brendan Brown; midfielders Franco Calabrese, Pepe Martinez-Bertrand, Daire O’Riordan and Giuseppe Vitale; and forward Matt Whelan.

GRFC returns to Houseman Field on Friday, May 4 as the Boys in Blue host Livonia City FC at 7:30 p.m. Additional home dates include May 19, May 27, June 3, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29 and July 7.
