GRFC Names Head Coach for 2017

Moni Returns for Third Season

Grand Rapids, MI  –  Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce that we have come to an agreement with George Moni to continue as the Head Coach of GRFC for the 2017 season.
Moni, who has led the Boys in Blue since the inaugural 2015 campaign, has an 18-7-7 record in all competitions.  He led GRFC to a National Premier Soccer League Midwest Western Conference championship in 2016 as well as winning the first playoff game in club history with a win over Indy Eleven in July.  With that win, GRFC qualified for the US Open Cup which starts in May of 2017.
“I am happy and privileged to continue as the GRFC Head Coach for the 2017 season” said Moni. “The past two seasons have been outstanding and overwhelming. Our work was filled with joy, excitement and a great sense of accomplishment on and off the soccer field. The ownership, fans, coaching staff, and I have built a strong team and a solid foundation for many years to come. Entering the third year as the Head Coach, I am looking forward to continuing the past success and work harder to make GRFC a power house not only regionally but compete to win the NPSL in 2017”.
“We are very happy to have George back as the Head Coach for the 2017 season” said GRFC President Matt Roberts.  “He has been a fantastic leader for the players on and off the field.  George has led us into two years where we didn’t have any experience in those particular leagues and has produced quality sides that have been very competitive since day one.  We look forward to giving George and his staff whatever they need to help them deliver more trophies for our fans”.
