GRFC Makes Kovacs First Signing
Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce our first signing for the Women’s Team that will begin play in the summer of 2017 is Michaela “Mouse” Kovacs.
Kovacs, who is a Defender and will wear the number 4, is currently a sophomore at Michigan State. She has represented the United States National Team at the U19 level, playing in international matches in the US and New Zealand.
“I could not be more excited to finally be playing back in Grand Rapids” said Kovacs. “I have had the pleasure of attending some of the men’s GRFC games and witnessed how great our soccer community is at supporting the program. With that being said I hope I can help bring the same successful record and competition to the women’s side this upcoming summer”.
GRFC Women’s Head Coach Lewis Robinson commented “From the beginning when the team was being formed we knew Mouse would be one of the first players we would want to add to our roster. She is a fantastic player, great leader, and one of the best female players to come out of West Michigan. She has great experience with the U19 Women’s National Team, is a standout with MSU in the Big 10, and always wants to compete and improve her game.
These things made Mouse the perfect addition to our first year team and we are thrilled with the opportunity to have her with us.”
