GRFC Women Add Two Midfielders

Balcer and Paul Add Depth to Midfield

Grand Rapids Football Club has added two more midfielders to the Women’s squad for the 2017 United Women’s Soccer season.  Please help us welcome Bethany Balcer and Lizzie Paul.
Balcer, a Hudsonville native who will wear the number 13, is currently a Sophomore at Spring Arbor University.  She led the Cougars to an NAIA championship in 2015 and was named NAIA National Player of the Year and Tournament MVP.  During her sophomore season she scored 31 goals in 24 games.
Paul, who hails from Manchester, England and will wear the number 23, is currently coaching the Davenport Women as an assistant.  During her playing days as a Panther, she set school records for goals in a career (55), goals in a single season (23), and points in a single season (54).  During her last season in 2013 she was named WHAC 1st Team All-Conference and Offensive Player of the Year.
Head Coach Lewis Robinson on the signings “Bethany and Lizzie both bring many strengths to our team and we are very excited to have them with us this year. They both have proven goal scoring records and we look forward to seeing them continue this with GRFC Women this summer”.
