Men and Women Play Two Games This Weekend

Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club mens and womens teams both play two games this weekend, with both on the road Friday night.   The defending UWS champion women return home to Grandville Saturday night, while the men play at Houseman Field on Sunday this weekend.  Both teams look to stay undefeated as the men (4-0-1 overall, 2-0-1, 7pts NPSL) can jump to the top of the table with a win Friday and the women (2-0-1, 7 pts UWS) can put some space between themselves and 2nd place with victories this weekend.

Friday, June 1st 6:00pm – GRFC Men at AFC Ann Arbor – Eastern Michigan University

GRFC’s mens team travel to take on AFC Ann Arbor Friday night in a battle of #1 vs #2 in the Midwest Great Lakes Conference.  After another six points earned with wins over Muskegon and Milwaukee last weekend, the men look to stay in the playoff hunt with a result on the road at the Mighty Oak (3-0-1, 10 pts).  There will be a stream of the match so follow our twitter feed for the link.

Friday, June 1st 7:00pm – GRFC Women at Genesee FC – Atwood Stadium

The women travel to take on a new UWS opponent this weekend in Genesee FC (0-3-1, 1pt) at Atwood Stadium in Flint.  The ladies in blue sit at the top of the table in the Midwest while playing the most difficult schedule in the conference so far.  Two wins over Detroit Sun and a draw with Lansing United is good for seven points and the top spot so far.  Follow our twitter feed

Saturday, June 2nd 7:00pm – GRFC Women vs MI Legends – Grandville HS

The ladies in blue return home to Grandville High School Saturday to take on MI Legends (2-1-0, 6 pts).  The GRFC women won the home leg last season 3-1 in their first ever game in the UWS.  Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for kids and you can find them at grandrapidsfc.com.

Sunday, June 3rd 6:00pm – GRFC Men vs Kalamazoo FC – Houseman Field

The boys in blue are back at Houseman Field this Sunday for a match with Kalamazoo FC (1-1-2, 5 pts).  Kalamazoo won this tie last year 1-0 and GRFC will look to keep the momentum going against their rivals from the south after going on the road and winning 3-1 later in the 2017 season and getting a win and draw during the 2016 campaign.   Tickets can be found at grandrapidsfc.com.
