Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club announced this morning the return of Sadie Misiewicz for the 2019 United Womens Soccer season.
Misiewicz, a junior at Michigan State, has played the first two seasons with GRFC Women, featuring in the 2017 National Championship Final for the club. She has made 21 appearances for the Girls in Blue during those first two seasons, playing the majority of her time at left back.
In her three seasons with the Spartans, she has made 43 appearances while registering four goals and four assists. She started all 18 games this Fall, and was named Big Ten Player of the Week after scoring two goals against Southern Utah.
“I am very excited to be back for a third season” said Misiewicz. “I am looking forward to playing along side so many talented players. We have had great success so far and I am thrilled to help continue to grow the women’s program at GRFC!”
GRFC Women Head Coach James Gilpin commented “We are extremely excited to welcome Sadie back to the team for 2019. As someone who has been a part of the club since day one she has continued to improve year after year and we are looking forward to seeing big things from her again this summer.”
GRFC Women return to Grandville on Friday, May 24th as the Midwest champions host Indiana Union at 7:00pm. Additional home dates include June 7th, June 8th, June 21st, and June 30th. The club will also compete in the first ever Women’s Milk Cup with competition dates being announced at a later time.
