Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club is pleased to announce that Forward Anthony Bowie will return for the 2020 USL League Two season.
Bowie, who recently finished his career at Western Michigan, will join the Boys in Blue for a fifth season after recovering from hip surgery. He has made 24 appearances for GRFC, scoring eight goals and recording 9 assists. He struggled with injuries during the 2019 NPSL season, limiting him to three appearances and returns after a strong senior season for the Broncos. The young winger scored six goals and recorded three assists in 19 games this Fall, was named MAC Player of the Week twice and was in the Top Drawer National Team of the Week twice. Bowie also picked up All-MAC second team honors for the season, and excelled in the classroom picking up Academic All-MAC and Academic All-American awards.
“I’m thankful for another opportunity to play with GRFC this summer” said Bowie. “Being able to represent my hometown for a fifth summer is not something I take for granted and I will give my all for the coaching staff, my teammates, and more importantly the fans. Moving up to the USL is an exciting change for the club and I can’t wait to compete for trophies this season.”
