Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club will host AFC Ann Arbor Friday and travel to Columbus on Sunday looking for two wins that will help propel the Boys in Blue to the NPSL playoffs.  GRFC currently sits in second place (the top two teams in the Great Lakes Conference make the playoffs) with 19 points from 9 games (6-2-1).  After a huge 2-0 win in Hamtramck against Detroit City FC last Sunday, GRFC can all but assure a playoff spot with six points this weekend.  Detroit (13 pts) and Columbus (11pts) can still catch GRFC, but the lads will look to keep the momentum going with three games to go.

The Ladies in Blue are off this weekend, but after wins over Fort Wayne and Indy Premier last weekend they are currently top of the UWS Midwest Conference table with three games to play as well.  GRFC has 17 points from 7 games, with Lansing sitting second (16pts), and Detroit still in the hunt (15 pts) for the top seed and the right to host the Midwest playoffs.

Friday, June 22nd – GRFC Men vs AFC Ann Arbor – 7:30pm

The Boys in Blue host top seeded and undefeated AFC Ann Arbor (7-0-2, 23 pts) Friday night in a huge NPSL showdown.  GRFC is has two wins and one loss at Houseman Field in the history of this rivalry and this match should be one for the history books as well.  Both teams started playing in the Great Lakes Premier League (now UPSL-Midwest) in 2015 and neither team has ended a season lower than third in the conference standings, with GR and Ann Arbor finishing 1 and 2 during the 2016 campaign.  You won’t want to miss this one so get your tickets at and don’t forget there will be New Holland Xtra Time and Mad Hatter, Coppercraft G&T and Michigan Mules, as well as Ridge Cider available at Houseman Field!

Sunday, June 24th – GRFC Men @ FC Columbus – 3:00pm

After the massive showdown on Friday night at home, GRFC will turn around and head to Columbus for a matchup with a team that beat them 3-0 last weekend.  Revenge will be on the lad’s minds, and playoff spots will be on the line in this one as well.  FC Columbus comes into this matchup with 11 points from 7 games and has the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs in their inaugural season.  There will be a live twitter feed so make sure to follow @grandrapidsfc for updates on this one.
