GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Grand Rapids Football Club has signed defender Liam Kettle for the 2018 National Premier Soccer League season.

Kettle, 21, recently completed his sophomore season at Seton Hill University, where he started 13 matches with the Griffins. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound defender was part of a back line that kept three clean sheets during the 2017 campaign.

Prior to transferring to SHU, Kettle began his collegiate career at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, tallying two goals in 17 appearances as a freshman in 2016. The Sandbach, England native potted the game-winning goal in the Drovers’ 3-2 win versus Southwestern Assemblies of God University on Sept. 30, 2016.

GRFC returns to Houseman Field on Friday, May 4 as the Boys in Blue host Livonia City FC at 7:30 p.m. Additional home dates include May 19, May 27, June 3, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29 and July 7.
