Grand Rapids Football Club is pleased to announce that we have come to an agreement to sell beer at all Grand Rapids FC men’s home games at Houseman Field this season.
“This is a great day for GRFC, as we have been chasing this for a while now,” said GRFC president Matt Roberts. “The ability to sell beer in the stadium is a massive step forward for the club, and we couldn’t be more excited to see it finally be approved after four years. GRPS has been a great partner in this venture and we look forward to continuing to support them as they strive to give the kids of our city every opportunity they deserve.”
Grand Rapids Public Schools will see an immediate impact from this deal, as the club has agreed to split all profits from beer sales with GRPS, in addition to continuing to donate 100% of concessions sales to the school system.
As a part of their sponsorship deal, New Holland Brewing will be the exclusive craft beer provider at all GRFC home matches. GRFC’s official beer, New Holland’s Xtra Time, will be one of the beers available at the stadium.
“New Holland is incredibly excited to offer our great products at Grand Rapids FC games this season” said New Holland Brewing’s VP of Sales Joel Peterson. “Delicious New Holland beer will enhance the fan experience at Houseman Field and pairs perfectly with winning soccer. We are proud to support the boys in blue for the third year in a row.”
All beer sales will be conducted in accordance with Michigan Liquor Control Commission (MLCC) regulations by servers trained and certified through an alcohol server training program approved by the MLCC. Persons wishing to purchase beer will need to present valid ID for a wristband and only persons wearing the wristband will be authorized to be in possession of any adult beverage. There will also be specific seating areas, designated as “family zones”, where signs will prohibit adult beverages. GRFC is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for all fans.
Grand Rapids FC returns to Houseman Field for their fourth campaign on Friday, May 4th. The Boys in Blue take on Livonia City FC and all kids who wear their local club jerseys will get in free! Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30pm, and gates will open at 6:30pm. For more information about the club, visit grandrapidsfc.com.
