GRFC brings in Netherlands Native, adding Dutch style to the backline

Grand Rapids, Mi – Grand Rapids Football Club is incredibly pleased to announce the signing of Floris Van Nijnanten. Van Nijnanten joins the Boys in Blue after an extensive upbringing in the Dutch amateur and professional ranks. He represented the professional side, NAC Breda for years in their amateur teams and was a U-16 Dutch National team selection, being named one of the top 30 players in the country for his age. Looking to take on new challenges in America, Floris transferred to Nova Southeastern University in Florida, where he currently represents the Sharks in NCAA Division II.

When asked about GRFC and the 2021 season, Van Nijnanten said, “I am very excited to travel to Michigan and play for Grand Rapids FC. I hear very positive stories from Michigan, so I can’t wait to play competitive games again and discover a new part of America.” Floris continued, “I look forward to meeting my fellow players and staff. When I originally heard of GRFC one thing immediately caught my attention, the fans! I hope we will entertain them and win a championship.”
