GRFC Names Coach for Women’s Team

Robinson Named Head Coach

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  Robinson Named GRFC Women’s Coach
Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids FC is proud to announce that Lewis Robinson has been named the Head Coach of our new Women’s team set to debut in 2017.
Robinson, who is originally from Newcastle, England, was the Associate Head Coach of our Men’s team during the National Premier Soccer LeagueConference Championship 2016 season.  He has won 7 State Cups at the youth level, and also won a National Championship with his @Midwest United FC U15 Girls last summer.  He has a USSF “A” license and an FA Level 1 Badge.
“I am honored and excited to have the opportunity to lead GRFC Women into their first season” said Robinson.  “We are really looking forward to giving elite level female players a place to train, play, and showcase their talents for our City this summer. West Michigan has a great population of talented female players, including several US Youth National Team players that we look forward to including in our team. The team will be a fantastic expansion for the club and a great step forward for West Michigan Soccer. We look forward to getting to work and putting together a quality team that that our GRFC community can enjoy watching and supporting!”
GRFC President Matt Roberts on the hire:  “We couldn’t be happier to have Lewis running our first women’s team next summer.  He has a great track record as a youth coach and has developed some of the best female players in West Michigan.  His ability to recruit top talent will be a major advantage as we put the roster together as well.  When we started the conversation about starting a women’s side Lewis was at the top of the list to coach the team and we know he will do a great job of helping us push West Michigan soccer forward”.
