GRFC Signs Former Lansing United Striker James Decosemo

Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club announced this morning the signing of forward James Decosemo for the 2019 National Premier Soccer league season.

Decosemo, who is the all-time leader in appearances for Lansing United, played four seasons in the state capital and was the club captain during his time there.  He led Lansing to an NPSL Midwest championship and the national semi-final against NY Red Bulls 2 in 2014.  He played collegiately at Northwood University, winning two GLIAC tournament championships and one regular season title.  He was named All-Conference and All-Region, and led the school to sweet sixteen.  Decosemo is originally from Stokesley, England, and played for Newcastle United until the age of 16.

GRFC will return to Houseman Field this Saturday, May 4th as the Boys in Blue host Livonia City at 7:30pm in the second round of the US Amateur Cup.  Additional home dates include May 11th, May 18th, May 31st, June 9th, June 16th, June 28th, June 30th, and July 13th.  The club will also compete in the Michigan Milk Cup this summer.
