Orban signs with GRFC.
Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce the addition of a new player to the 2017 National Premier Soccer League squad. Help us welcome Aaron Orban!
Orban, a Goalkeeper from who will wear number 25, is originally from Suttons Bay and currently a Junior at Davenport University Men’s Soccer. He has won an NAIA National Championship (2014) and owns the record for most wins and shutouts in program history. He played the 2016 season with the Des Moines Menace of the PDL.
“I am extremely happy to be signing for Grand Rapid FC and participating in the upcoming 2017 NPSL season” said Orban. I believe that with my experiences playing at the collegiate and PDL level have really prepared me for the opportunity to play for the Boys in Blue. I consider it to be a tremendous privilege to play in front of the city of Grand Rapids and the remarkable fan base of the Grand Army. I would like to thank the coaching staff of Davenport University and the GRFC coaching staff and technical directors for making this possible for me”.
GRFC President Matt Roberts commented: “Aaron is a goalkeeper we have kept an eye on during our first two years as he has had great success at the collegiate level with Davenport. He is a player who will come in and push the entire team from day one. We think with this signing we have a goalkeeper group that is as good as any in the NPSL”.
