Jack McCarren returns to GRFC for the fourth season.

Grand Rapids, Mi – GRFC is excited to announce the return of Jack McCarren to the 2021 roster.  McCarren has been a fan-favorite since he first signed with Grand Rapids FC in 2018.  He is looking forward to the changes happening in 2021 with the club.  “It will be a good challenge for us competing in USL2 against some quality opposition.  I am confident we have the pieces to make a real push for success.”

McCarren is from Dublin, Ireland, where he spent two seasons playing for St. Patrick’s Athletic in the League of Ireland Premier Division.  He also represented the Irish International Development squad before coming to America.  He then played college soccer at Martin Methodist College in Tennessee, winning the NAIA National Championship and receiving All-American nominations and three First Team All-Conference honors in his time.

Jack told us he is “buzzing to be back again with GRFC this season.  This is a great club with a fantastic fan base here in West Michigan.  I can’t wait to get started with the boys and the staff, and help to bring some silverware back to the Grand Army and the great city of Grand Rapids.

Head Coach Stuart Collins weighs in on the signing of the veteran player, “Jack is a player that has the ability to produce a special moment out of nothing. He is very comfortable on the ball in tight areas and has great vision. Jack’s a larger than life personality who is very easy to get along with and will help galvanize the group early in the season.”

Jack is currently a full time coach at Midwest United FC and Aquinas College.
