Joe White Returns for 2020 Campaign

Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club confirmed today that Goalkeeper Joe White will return for the 2020 USL League Two season with the Boys in Blue.

White, who is currently an assistant coach at Auburn-Montgomery in Alabama, made 13 appearances for GRFC in 2019.  He kept clean sheets in seven matches, and served as captain of the team several times.

A native of London, England, he played a season with Stevenage FC  before setting off for the United States.  He spent two years at Warner Pacific University, where he was an all-conference honoree.  He transferred to NAIA powerhouse Hastings College in Nebraska and played his final two years for the Broncos.  During that time, he won a national championship in 2016, and was named NAIA national tournament MVP.

“I’m delighted to be back at GRFC this summer” said White.  “Last summer was a great experience and it was a no brainer when asked to return.  I expect this new chapter in USL League Two to propel the club forward and I can’t wait to be back out in front of the Grand Army again.”
