Minor league soccer could soon kick off in G.R.

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) – Matt Roberts hopes the excitement that comes with this summer’s World Cup will help fuel funding and fans for the minor league soccer franchise he is organizing.

The Grand Rapids FC (Football Club) would play in the North Premiere Soccer League, a league that already has two other Michigan franchises. The players would be amateurs, largely those now playing college soccer.
