Moni Fills Out Men’s Coaching Staff

Gilpin and Lipon Back for 2017

Grand Rapids, MI – Head Coach George Moni has named James Gilpin and Dan Lipon as assistant coaches for the 2017 National Premier Soccer League season. With this move, the entire coaching staff from the 2016 campaign is now back for the upcoming summer. Steve Herdsman was named the first assistant in December.

Gilpin, who coaches full time for Midwest United and is an assistant coach for the Davenport Women’s program, enters he third season with the Boys in Blue.

“I am very proud and excited to continue with Grand Rapids Football Club” said Gilpin. The club has continued to go from strength to strength and that is down to the fantastic foundation laid by the owners, staff, players and supporters. Collectively, we strive to field a team that the city of Grand Rapids can be very proud of and I cannot wait for the 2017 season to begin so we can push on from where we left of last year”!

Lipon, who is the Director of Coaching for LASSO and the Lowell High School Girls coach, also is coming back for his third season.

“It’s an honor to continue supporting the club for the 2017 campaign” commented Lipon. “To have an opportunity to work with some of the best coaches and players in West Michigan is truly a privilege. The growth of the club and its fan base over the past three seasons has been remarkable. The level of excitement for the future of the game in West Michigan is tremendous, and the club has certainly been a catalyst!”
