Grand Rapids, MI – Grand Rapids Football Club announced this morning that Brittany and Riley Tanner have signed for the 2019 United Womens Soccer season.
Brittany, who is a redshirt Junior forward at Michigan State, played the 2017 UWS National Championship season with GRFC Women, and played the 2018 season with Lansing United. During her time at Michigan State, she has made 42 appearances in three seasons for the Spartans.
Riley, a freshman forward at South Carolina, scored two goals in seventeen appearances for the Gamecocks this Fall. She played for Lewis Robinson at Midwest United DA during her youth career, and was named All-Conference, District, and Region during her time at Kentwood High School.
“We are excited to come back and play for our home-town team and the have the chance to play together for the first time in four years” said the sisters. “We can’t wait to play in front of the great fans GRFC has and continue the winning tradition this club has established.”
GRFC Women Head Coach James Gilpin commented “We are looking forward to welcoming the Tanner sisters to the team for 2019. Both Brittany and Riley have played at a very high level in college and will bring something new to our team which will get the fans on the edge of their seats.”
