Vanderlaan Returns for 2017 Season

Vanderlaan Returns to Lead Back Line

Grand Rapids Football Club is proud to announce that Jake Vanderlaan will return to the squad for 2017!

Vanderlaan, a Defender who will wear number 2, joined GRFC last season after playing with Lansing United and Michigan Stars. The Grand Haven native made 9 appearances during that time, helping the Boys in Blue to a playoff win in our first National Premier Soccer League campaign.

“I am very excited to come back for my second season with the Boys in Blue after what was an amazing first season in the NPSL” said Vanderlaan. “Nothing beats the Houseman atmosphere when it’s filled with all of our fantastic supporters. We will do everything we can to make 2017 a special year for West Michigan soccer”.

GRFC President Matt Roberts commented “We couldn’t be happier that Jake is coming back for the 2017 season. His partnership with Tony (Deakin) at the back strengthened our team and is a big reason we were able to go on the run we did last year. It’s an exciting time to see local players like Jake be able to continue their careers in this community”.
